MEQUON, Wis. – IU Northwest's men's and women's cross country teams put together strong performances on Saturday at the Ken Weidt Invitational, hosted by Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin. The women's squad earned a fifth-place team finish in the 6K race, while the men's group gained valuable racing experience in the 8K field.
For the women, Jocelyn Martinez and Katie Plopper paced the RedHawks with competitive times, followed closely by Addison Waddell. Madalyn Addison continued her steady progress as she set her best time at 29:06.50, helping secure IU Northwest's top-half team finish. Amy Mojica also contributed to the RedHawks' scoring effort.
On the men's side, Jaiden Harmon and Jordan Warnell battled through the course against a deep and challenging field, using the race as another step forward in building toward the heart of the season.
Head coach Brittany Dickerson praised both teams for their effort, noting the positive momentum being built in training and competition. "This week was a great effort for both teams. This past week of training was especially tough, so to see them compete well and have some positive outcomes is a good sign of what is to come as we continue into the season," Dickerson said.
The RedHawks will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 4, when they travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for the 25th annual Warrior Invitational hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College.
