MEQUON, Wis. – IU Northwest men's and women's cross country continued their impressive midseason form Friday at the Jenna Strong Invitational hosted by Wilmington College. The RedHawks carried momentum from a strong showing the previous weekend at the Bethel University Invitational, once again turning in multiple personal bests and consistent team results.
The women's team finished 17th overall out of 22 programs in the 6K race.
Jocelyn Martinez led the way with an 11-second season personal record, followed by
Amy Mojica with a 19-second season best and
Madalyn Addison, who recorded a 14-second lifetime PR. The trio's strong efforts were supported by steady performances from
Katie Plopper and
Addison Waddell as IU Northwest continued to build depth and confidence late in the fall schedule.
The men's side featured continued progress from
Jaiden Harmon and
Jordan Warnell, who both competed hard through the 8K field. Warnell's strong effort comes one week after his three-minute lifetime PR at Bethel, highlighting the team's overall growth and endurance gains.
At the Bethel University Invitational on Oct. 10, the RedHawks collectively posted six personal records. Along with Warnell's breakout performance,
Amy Mojica cut two minutes off her season best, while
Katie Plopper recorded a 40-second lifetime PR.
Madalyn Addison trimmed 15 seconds off her career mark,
Jocelyn Martinez lowered her season best by 48 seconds, and
Addison Waddell rounded out the list with a 12-second lifetime PR.
The RedHawks will return to action at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge hosted by Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Mich. at Riverside Park on Saturday, Oct. 25.
