GARY, Ind. — Junior captain Luis Limones has been named the Herff Jones RedHawk Athlete of the Week for Week 11 after delivering two standout performances between Oct. 27 and Nov. 1 for Indiana University Northwest men's soccer.
Limones opened the week with a commanding showing against Saint Francis (Ill.) on Oct. 28, where he played the full 90 minutes and registered two assists and three shots in a high-tempo contest. His vision and accuracy in distribution were pivotal in generating the RedHawks' offensive chances, highlighting his ability to both create and sustain pressure in the attacking third.
He followed that effort with another strong performance on Nov. 1 against Olivet Nazarene, recording five shots, including two on goal, while logging 86 minutes of play. His relentless work rate and leadership in the midfield helped IUN maintain possession and push forward against a tough Tigers squad.
A junior from Hammond, Ind., Limones has served as a key leader for the RedHawks throughout the season. His technical skill, composure under pressure, and captain's presence have made him the anchor of IUN's midfield and a driving force behind the team's late-season competitiveness.
For his consistent playmaking, effort, and leadership across both matches, Luis Limones is recognized as the Herff Jones RedHawk Athlete of the Week for Week 11.
