Indiana Northwest’s Playoff Push Ends With Loss to Olivet Nazarene

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. — Indiana University Northwest men's soccer saw its postseason hopes come to an end Saturday night, falling 7-0 to Olivet Nazarene University in its regular-season finale.

The RedHawks (3-14-1, 2-7-1 CCAC) entered the match needing a win to stay alive in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament race, but the Tigers (15-2-1, 10-0-0 CCAC) displayed why they remain among the league's elite, using a strong second half to pull away.

IU Northwest kept the contest tight early, limiting Olivet Nazarene to a single first-half goal. Goalkeeper Devun Collins made seven of his 12 saves in the opening 45 minutes, keeping the RedHawks within reach heading into halftime. Despite several quality looks from Dom Bixeman and Luis Limones, IU Northwest couldn't find the finishing touch against the Tigers' back line.

Olivet Nazarene erupted for six second-half goals to seal the match. The RedHawks continued to battle throughout, generating 13 shots — four on target — and earning four corner kicks.

Head coach Ben Kososkie praised his team's perseverance and senior leadership following the match.

"This group fought all season with heart and pride," Kososkie said. "Even when results didn't go our way, our seniors set the standard for what it means to represent this program. They've built a foundation for the future, and I'm proud of the effort they gave until the very end."

The loss concludes the 2025 campaign for IU Northwest,  under Kososkie's leadership with multiple conference wins and the team's first nine-goal performance in program history earlier in the season.
