Indiana Northwest Explodes for 9-0 Win Over Calumet

Presented by Marcus Allard Truck Rental

EAST CHICAGO, Ind. — Indiana University Northwest men's soccer delivered its most dominant performance of the season Wednesday evening, erupting for nine goals in a 9-0 rout of Calumet College of St. Joseph at East Chicago Central High School.

The RedHawks (2-12-1, 1-5-1 CCAC) came out firing from the opening whistle, scoring six goals in the first half and cruising to their first conference win of the season. Dom Bixeman opened the scoring in the fifth minute, netting his team-leading fourth goal of the year off an assist from Alan Nunez.

IU Northwest kept the pressure on as Nunez doubled the lead just minutes later before Nick Flores, Erick Lopez, Cesar Amaya, and Sergio Orellana each found the back of the net to close out the first half with a commanding 6-0 lead. The RedHawks continued to roll after the break as Luis Limones, Omar Mehisen, and Ian Gunderson all scored their first goals of the season to complete the nine-goal showcase.

In total, six different RedHawks scored their first goals of the season, while two others recorded their second. Bixeman led the way offensively with his fourth tally of the year and multiple first-half chances, as IU Northwest outshot Calumet 21-3 and held an 8-0 edge in corner kicks.

The RedHawks' defense, anchored by Devun Collins and Jackson Novak, kept the Crimson Wave without a single shot on goal for the entire match, securing the team's first shutout of 2025.

IU Northwest returns home on Saturday, Oct. 25, hosting Governors State University at 1 p.m. at East Chicago Central High School.
