Box Score SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The Indiana University Northwest women's basketball team dropped its second CCAC matchup of the season Wednesday evening, falling 82–51 to Indiana University South Bend/
IU Northwest (1–6, 0–2 CCAC) hung tough in the opening minutes, taking an early lead on a three-pointer from Maggie Grady and keeping the margin within single digits through much of the first quarter. But IU South Bend (3–3, 1–1 CCAC) closed the period on an 8–1 run, then used a strong second quarter to stretch its advantage to 43–21 at halftime.
Junior guard De'Mour Watson paced the RedHawks with 16 points and 11 rebounds, securing her second double-double of the season while adding four assists. Grady reached double figures again with 10 points, including two makes from beyond the arc. Gracie Little provided a spark off the bench, scoring eight points on 4-of-9 shooting, while Ava Kingery added three points, three rebounds and a team-high 38 minutes of floor time.
IU Northwest struggled from the field, shooting 28.8 percent (17-for-59) and 18.8 percent from three. Despite a tough shooting night, the RedHawks battled on the glass, winning the rebounding margin 38–31, including 13 offensive boards.
IU South Bend countered with an efficient offensive attack, shooting 49.3 percent from the floor and placing four players in double figures.
The Titans capitalized on turnovers throughout the night, converting 30 points off IU Northwest's 26 giveaways, which proved to be the difference.
IU Northwest looks to regroup as it returns home on Saturday, hosting Saint Ambrose at 1 p.m. inside the Savannah Center.
