GARY, Ind. — Freshman guard Gracie Little has been named the Herff Jones RedHawk Athlete of the Week for Week 21 following her performances for Indiana University Northwest women's basketball during contests from Feb. 9–Feb. 14.
Little delivered a strong scoring presence in both road games during the week, beginning with the RedHawks' Feb. 11 matchup at Saint Xavier. The Valparaiso, Ind., native attacked offensively and helped pace IUN against a tough Saints squad, showing poise beyond her years as a first-year player.
She followed that performance with another impressive outing on Feb. 14 at Holy Cross, providing key scoring and perimeter shooting that helped spark the RedHawks in crucial stretches of the contest. Little's confidence with the ball and ability to create offense played a significant role in IUN's competitive effort on the road.
Despite being in her first collegiate season, Little has quickly emerged as a reliable contributor in the RedHawks' backcourt. Her composure, scoring versatility and willingness to compete on both ends of the floor continue to make an impact for IUN.
For her contributions in both contests during the Feb. 9–Feb. 14 stretch, freshman guard Gracie Little of Valparaiso, Ind., is named the Herff Jones RedHawk Athlete of the Week for Week 21.
