GAME RECAP
Tiara Jackson started the game with back-to-back baskets. CCSJ responded with two straight of their own.
Jackson bounced back and hit two straight shots to make it 9-4. The Crimson Wave got a basket back then the RedHawks closed out the quarter scoring the last seven points after Samantha Martin hit a pair at the line, Madison Wirey made a basket then Katelyn Halfacre knocked down a three-pointer to make it 16-6 after one.
The Wave started the second quarter with a basket then Halfacre made another three-pointer. Calumet College cut it to 12 (28-16) with under five minutes left then Lauren Smolen and Sarah Martin hit back-to-back buckets to extend it back to 16.
IU Northwest went into the half scoring the last five points, a three-pointer by Halfacre and a basket by Samantha Martin. The RedHawks led 39-20 at the break, which is their biggest lead of the game so far.
Michaela Schmidt started the second half with a three-pointer. Moments later, the Crimson Wave cut it back down to 15 points but Schmidt continued her big second half with a pair of three-pointers.
CCSJ responded with two straight baskets then Schmidt and Meghan Long got them right back to extend it back out to 57-35 with 2:41 left in the third quarter. The Crimson Wave closed out the third quarter with a basket as the RedHawks led 62-43.
Emma Schmidt made a basket and Halfacre hit a three-pointer to grab a 74-49 lead with 6:58 remaining in the game. IU Northwest held onto their big lead the rest of the game as the RedHawks won 85-57.
