Box Score GARY, Ind. -- Freshman Katelyn Halfacre made her season debut on Saturday as she led the IU Northwest women's basketball team with a 78-38 victory against Judson Saturday. Halfacre led all scorers with 16 points and four three-pointers in the victory.

GAME RECAP
Judson went up 5-0 early in the contest. IU Northwest was able to respond with a 7-2 run capped off with layups by Meghan Long and Sarah Martin.
Both teams traded the next two baskets before the RedHawks got a three-pointer from Halfacre and a layup by Long. IU Northwest led 16-13 after the first quarter.
The Eagles opened up the second period with a three-pointer to tie the game at 16-all. Alyna Santiago responded right away with a three of her own to regain the lead.
After a basket by JU, IU Northwest scored the next 19 unanswered capped off with a basket by Tiara Jackson and a three-pointer by Sarah Martin. The RedHawks went into the halftime break ahead 39-20.
IUN started the second half with three straight layups by Michaela Schmidt, Karli Miller and Lauren Smolen to grab a 45-20 lead with 8:14 left in the third quarter. Jackson capped off the 10-0 run to start the second half for IU Northwest to give the RedHawks a 49-20 lead.
Judson responded with back-to-back buckets. Halfacre nailed another three-pointer and Long made a basket to extend the lead to 56-27.
The RedHawks led 58-30 after the third quarter.
Halfacre made a three-pointer and made a basket to score five straight for the RedHawks to give them a 63-30 advantage. IU Northwest put the game out of reach after three straight three-pointers by Halfacre, Madison Wirey and Santiago for a 76-34 advantage their biggest lead of the night.
Samantha Martin picked up the final basket for the RedHawks. IU Northwest ended up winning the contest 78-38.
