Box Score GARY, Ind. -- The Indiana University Northwest Women's Basketball team bounced back today from their previous game as the RedHawks defeated Emmaus Bible 85-55.
The RedHawks (1-1) defeated the Eagles (0-1), 85-55, at the Savannah Center, Friday.

QUARTER BREAKDOWN
FIRST QUARTER (IUN 17; Emmaus Bible 10)
- IUN led 10-2 in the first three minutes of the game after Lauren Smolen made a basket.
- Emmaus Bible went on a 6-1 run to make it a three-point game with 4:38 left in the opening quarter.
- Desa Geisler hit a huge three-pointer to end the spurt to make it 13-8.
- Sarah Martin looked to give the RedHawks some momentum going into the second period after making a shot which made it 17-10 with 10 seconds left.
SECOND QUARTER (IUN 17; Emmaus Bible 17)
- Emmaus stopped any chance for momentum as the Eagles scored the first seven points of the second period to tie the game at 17-all.
- Taylor Jaksich nailed her first college trifecta to end the Emmaus run then it sparked a 10-0 spurt for IU Northwest and ended with a three by Jaksich which made the score 27-17.
- The Eagles responded with back-to-back buckets to cut it back to five points (27-22) with 2:59 left in the half.
- Martin converted a huge and-one and made a jumper to pull back ahead by 10 (32-22).
- IU Northwest went into the half ahead 34-27.
THIRD QUARTER (IUN 26; Emmaus Bible 14)
- Martin made the first three baskets for both teams to start the second half to give IU Northwest a 41-27 lead.
- After Emmaus responded with a bucket, the RedHawks scored seven in a row to go up by 19.
- Moments later, Ally McConnell hit her first three-pointer at IUN to make it a 19-point lead again for IU Northwest.
- Breanna Boles gave the RedHawks a 22-point lead (58-36) after making back-to-back baskets towards the end of the third.
- Michaela Schmidt ended the scoring in the third period after making a bucket in the paint which made it 60-41 IUN.
FOURTH QUARTER (IUN 25; Emmaus Bible 14)
- Emmaus tried to cut into the lead after making a short run to make it a 17-point game.
- IUN would rattle off 10 straight points again for a 73-46 lead after Smolen made three buckets during that run.
- Boles gave IU Northwest their biggest lead of the game (82-50) after making a basket with under two minutes to play.
- Haley Rokosz hit her first college three-pointer as well late in the game for the RedHawks.
- IU Northwest held on to win 85-55.
