Friday's game is the first of the season for Northwestern (Iowa) and a season ago the Raiders earned a spot in the NAIA Tournament following a 19-win campaign. Dordt a 30-win team from last year opens the season Wednesday at Dakota State before traveling to Chicagoland for the weekend.
The RedHawks, meanwhile, took down Bethel last Saturday 74-46 behind 30 points from
Jessica Carrothers and a double-double by
Tiara Jackson, who scored 17 points and pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds.
Cross Country
IUN is looking to take the CCAC Championship Saturday at Sunset Hill Farm County Park in Valparaiso. The RedHawks are led by
Jaiden Hurrle, who has set multiple personal-best times this season and
Lilliann Butler, who had a season-best time at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge.
Volleyball
Thursday's game at regular season conference champion Judson is the task at hand, as the RedHawks need to win, and IU South Bend must lose due to the tiebreaker scenarios. The Titans defeated IUN earlier this season in four sets.
Leading the RedHawks offense through 29 matches has been
Briah Strezo and
Erica Packwood, who have combined for 464 kills. Both Strezo and Packwood sit in the top 15 in kills, while
Chloe Roberts fourth overall in digs at 361 amongst CCAC student-athletes.
