GARY, Ind. — Senior guard Ladaion Barnes has been named the Herff Jones RedHawk Athlete of the Week for Week 14 after his standout performance during Indiana University Northwest's games between Nov. 17 and Nov. 22.
Barnes helped the RedHawks dominate on the glass and impact the game on both ends of the court. In the win over Saint Ambrose University on Nov. 22, Barnes tallied four assists, two blocks, and a key late lay-in during IUN's decisive second-half run. He also pulled down multiple defensive rebounds and played a steady role in maintaining momentum during the stretch run.
Over the week, Barnes averaged 15.2 points per game and secured 7.7 rebounds per outing, ranking second on the team in rebounds and among the leaders in three-point shooting at .371. His ability to fill up the stat sheet and contribute across multiple categories gave the RedHawks a reliable veteran presence when they needed it most.
A Hammond, Ind., native from Morton High School, Barnes has developed into a cornerstone of the IUN rotation this season. His work ethic, upgraded three-point accuracy and rebounding tenacity have helped elevate the team's performance in the early conference slate.
For his all-around contributions during the games of Nov. 17–22 and his leadership on the court, Ladaion Barnes is honored as the Herff Jones RedHawk Athlete of the Week for Week 14.
