DEERFIELD, Ill. – The Indiana University Northwest women's basketball team surpassed 20 wins for the first time since the 2018-19 season and broke the century mark with a 101-45 victory over Trinity International Wednesday evening in CCAC play.
The RedHawks are 20-5 and 15-2 in conference action and return to the court Saturday afternoon at 1p.m. against cross town foe Calumet.
Tiara Jackson scored the opening bucket for IUN, and the team never trailed as it led 17-1 5:30 into the game. The advantage would eventually balloon 32 twice in the second quarter after
Makayla Best and
Sarah Martin each scored on jumpers late.
Abbie Tomblin, meanwhile, made the most of her playing time in the second half as the LaPorte, Ind., native scored 12 points off the bench. During fourth period play, Tomblin would tally five straight points for the RedHawks, which would push the lead to 52.
In all, IUN had 49 points off the bench with
Emma Schmidt leading the group as she tickled the twine for 16.
Katelyn Halfacre also hit double figures with 13 to go along with four steals and four assists.
