Davenport, IA - IU Northwest Women's Basketball travel to Davenport, Iowa on Wednesday evening to face the Saint Ambrose Fighting Bees in a key CCAC matchup between two of the league's top teams. The RedHawks delivered consistent, play led by
Tiara Jackson, and
Sarah Martin, and pulled away from the bees to win 74-61.

In a slow start to the game for both teams, the two teams found themselves tied after the first quarter at 12 points each. In a strong second quarter the RedHawks tallied 24 points and outscored the Bees by eight to build an eight-point lead at the break. Consistent play in the second half over the final two quarters and strong free-throw shooting 20-25 sealed the victory as IUN improved 15-5 on the season and 10-2 and CCAC play.

The RedHawks shot 50% from the floor and 37% from long distance to go with 80% from the line. IU Northwest stingy defense limited Saint Ambrose to just 40% shooting from the floor and held the Bees to just two made three-point field goals.

The RedHawks were led again by junior standout forward,
Tiara Jackson who recorded another double-double with 18 points, 14 rebounds and 2 blocks as she continues to lead the CCAC and rebounding at 12.5 rpg. Â Senior guard,
Sarah Martin had a stellar game tallying 21 points on the evening for IUN on 8-13 shooting from the floor and 3-5 from long distance.

Karli Miller was once again a catalyst on offense and difference maker on the defense as she filed up the stat sheet with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 blocks and 3 steals impacting the game on both ends of the floor. Junior guard
Makayla Best provided a spark off the bench as she added 11 points courtesy of a pair of triples.

IU Northwest improved to 15-5 overall with the win and 10-2 in CCAC play and now stand alone in sole possession of second place in the conference. The RedHawks return to action this Saturday when they travel to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to face the Cardinal, Stritch wolves with tip-off set for 1 p.m.
