Milwaukee, Wis.Ā - The red-hot IU NorthwestĀ RedHawksĀ traveled to Milwaukee to face Cardinal Stritch in search of their fifth straight win and season sweep of the Wolves. The RedHawks received double digit scoring from four players led by Michalea Schmidt's gameĀ high 19 points and used a dominant third quarter to pull away from the Wolves for a convincing 78-54 victory.Ā
The win also made it 8 victories of their last 9 as the RedHawks are playing their best basketball of the season in their quest for a first-ever CCAC Conference Championship and the program's first NAIA National Tournament Appearance since 2019.Ā
Sarah Martin fresh of a 21 pointĀ performance in Wednesday's road win over St. Ambrose provided another excellent performance with 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
IU Northwest jumped out to a 20-11 lead at the end of the first quarter, before the Wolves fought back to make it a three point game at the half at 31-28. The RedHawks then used a dominant 23-6 third quarter as Schmidt and Martin combined to score 15 of the RedHawks 23 points in the quarter. The RedHawks received solid contributions off the bench as

With the win the RedHawks improved to 16-5 overall and an impressive 11-2 in CCAC play. IU Northwest sits alone in second place in the conference standings just one half game behind the league leading IU South Bend Titans.Ā
