Volleyball Loses to Judson on Road Tuesday

GARY, Ind. -- The Indiana University Northwest women's volleyball nearly pulled off the first set but then ended up dropping their match against host Judson in straight sets Tuesday.

SET BREAKDOWN

SET 1: Judson 29, IU Northwest 27

  • Both teams traded points early in the first set.
  • Judson led 13-11 midway through before IU Northwest rallied for four points in a row to grab a 15-13 lead.
  • Moments later, The RedHawks captured a 21-17 advantage before Judson rallied to tie it at 22-all.
  • The two teams traded the next few points and IUN led 27-26 late.
  • The Eagles won three straight points to win the set 29-27.

SET 2: Judson 25, IU Northwest 17

  • Both teams went back-and-forth again to start the second set which made it 7-7.
  • Judson rallied and scored four in a row to grab a 11-7 advantage. 
  • IU Northwest looked to fight back and made it 15-14 Judson but the Eagles scored three in a row to grab a 18-14 lead.
  • The RedHawks bounced back and score three in a row of their own to make it a one-point deficit. 
  • Judson ended the set scoring eight in a row to win it 25-17.

SET 3: Judson 25, IU Northwest 15

  • It was 4-4 early on before Judson made a 5-1 rally to make it 9-5.
  • Judson went on another run this time to make it 13-6.
  • The RedHawks looked to bounce back after scoring the next two points but the Eagles were too strong.
  • Judson won the third set 25-15 and won the match 3-0.

  • IU Northwest Volleyball will be back in action Thursday, October 21 as the RedHawks travel to Roosevelt starting at 7 p.m. CT.
