Alondra Avalos

Alondra Avalos begins her fourth season as head coach of the Indiana University Northwest women’s volleyball program in 2025–26. Since stepping into the role in 2022, she has built the RedHawks into a program known for both on-court success and academic excellence.

During her debut season, Avalos guided IUN to 18–11 overall and eight CCAC victories, marking the second most wins in program history and second most in conference play since joining in 2019. Standouts include Emileishka DeJesus and Mary Markusic earning first and second team all-conference honors, as well as Emma Roberts being named a NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete.

In her second season (2023), Erica Packwood and Briah Strezo were named to the All-CCAC Second Team. Brooke Durkin, Daija Pellot, Chloe Roberts, and Emma Roberts achieved Academic All-Conference recognition, with Roberts and Durkin also earning NAIA Daktronics Scholar-Athlete honors.

The 2024 campaign saw the RedHawks record a 14–17 overall mark and a 6–8 record in conference play, earning IUN its first CCAC Tournament appearance since 2019. The team showcased remarkable defensive efforts and continued academic success, highlighted by players balancing athletic rigor with scholarly achievement.

A proud IU Northwest alumna, Avalos played four seasons for the RedHawks, finishing her collegiate volleyball career in 2018. During her senior season, she helped lead the team to a school-record 27 wins and its first-ever NAIA Tournament appearance. She later earned a bachelor's degree in Spanish with a minor in psychology in 2020 and returned to IU Northwest in 2019 to serve as a student assistant coach.

After graduation, Avalos gained valuable experience leading the Lake Central High School girls volleyball program and directing the Epic United Volleyball Club.
