Lauren Gransberry (Smolen) begins her second stint and third season overall as an assistant coach with the women's basketball program during the 2025-26 season. 

During her first two seasons, the RedHawks won 41 games and had an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. During her second season as Assistant Coach, she coached the nation's second leading scorer (Jessica Carrothers).

Gransberry played at IU Northwest for four seasons and graduated in 2022 with the highest distinction in accounting and finance. She also earned the athletic departments highest GPA honor following the 2021-22 academic year. She was also named to the CCAC All-Academic Team for the 2020-21 season.

On the court Gransberry is in the top five all-time at IUN in field goal percentage and helped the RedHawks advance to the NAIA Tournament Sweet 16 in 2019. During her senior season she scored a career-high 15 points against Lincoln Christian.

Gransberry graduated from Lake Central High School prior to playing for IU Northwest. She is married to husband, Isaiah, and they reside in Portage, Ind.
