Indiana University Northwest

Grant Monahan enters his second season as an assistant coach with the Indiana University Northwest women’s basketball program for the 2025–26 season. A lifelong supporter of the game, Monahan brings a strong foundation in player development, defensive schemes, and program leadership, particularly with post players.

Monahan played high school basketball at Portage High School and has remained involved in the sport for many years as an assistant coach with various AAU programs. At IU Northwest, he will be primarily responsible for working with the RedHawks' post players, leading the team’s defensive strategies, and assisting with scouting and recruiting efforts.

Off the court, Monahan is employed as a manager at Cleveland Cliffs. He is deeply rooted in the Northwest Indiana community and brings with him years of mentorship, both professionally and in athletics.

He is married to his wife, Lori, and is the proud father of two children, including IU Northwest head women’s basketball coach Nicki Monahan-Keith. He is also a grandfather to four grandchildren.
