RedHawks Struggle to Find Offense in Road Loss at Saint Xavier

Presented by Marcus Allard Truck Rental

CHICAGO, Ill. — Indiana University Northwest fought through scoring droughts but could not sustain offensive consistency in a 77–44 road setback against Saint Xavier University Wednesday night at the Shannon Center.

The RedHawks struggled to get into rhythm early, connecting on just 15 percent of their field goal attempts in the first quarter while the Cougars built a 21–8 advantage. Despite defensive energy from IU Northwest, Saint Xavier maintained control throughout the opening half, and the RedHawks carried a 37–11 deficit into halftime.

IU Northwest continued to battle in the second half, but scoring remained difficult against Saint Xavier's length and pressure defense. The RedHawks showed brief signs of life with a handful of baskets in the third, but the Cougars held firm and extended their lead, ultimately securing the decisive road victory.

Gracie Little led IU Northwest with 11 points, shooting 5-for-9 from the field and making one 3-pointer. Jamarea LaCaze scored eight points while anchoring ball-screen action, and Aniyah Hinton-Henry added seven points and two steals. EJ Brown-Griffin finished with eight points and four rebounds, and Ava Kingery scored two points while contributing to the defensive effort. The RedHawks shot 29.8 percent overall (17-57) and 6.3 percent from beyond the arc (1-16), and finished with 21 bench points.

IU Northwest returns to the road on Saturday, Feb. 14, when the RedHawks travel to Holy Cross College for a 2 p.m. CDT tipoff.
