Goshen, Ind. – RedHawks Men's Soccer traveled to Goshen, Ind. to face off with the Goshen Leafs in search of their first win of the season. The RedHawks got off to a slow start giving a goal in the 7th minute and trailed 4-0 at the half.
The RedHawk swould not go away quietly as pair of second half goals by
Tre Adams and
Kyle Scott would cut the Leafs lead in half and with Scott's strike drawing the RedHawks within two at the 53
rd minute. Adam's goal was his second in as many games.
Goshen would extend their lead a short time later to extend the lead to 5-2. The RedHawks would answer back again in the 73
rd minute as the RedHawks would draw within two once again when
Alan Nunez sent a corner into the box that
Trevon Hamilton sent into the back of the net for his second tally of the season.
The three goals by IU Northwest were a season high as they rang up 10 total shots. Scott accounted for half of the RedHawk shot attempts. Goshen recorded 24 shots and earned seven corners compared to one for the RedHawks. Sophiomore goalkeeper
Gavin Niebel came in in relief in the second half and recorded a team high 3 saves while yielding a single goal in 43 minutes of action.
The RedHawks (0-5) will return to action this Tuesday when they travel to Wyoming, Michigan square to off with the Grace Christian Tigers for a 4:30 p.m. kickoff.
