Hard Rock Northern Indiana Recap: RedHawks Fall on the Road at Grace Christian

Wyoming, MI. - IU Northwest men's soccer traveled to Wyoming, Michigan on Tuesday to face off with the Grace Christian Tigers. The Tigers would strike first (12') and add a second first half goal to lead 2-1 at the half and hold on for the one goal victory.  
 
The RedHawks kept the pressure on the Tigers throughout the afternoon out shooting the Tigers 15-10 with 9 shots on goal. Cesar Lopez would tally an unassisted goal (43') right before the half to draw the RedHawks within the one at the break.
 
Despite several quality opportunities from both teams in the second half the final 45 minutes would be scoreless as the RedHawks could not find the equalizer. Kyle Scott (5), Trevon Hamilton (3), and Cesar Lopez (4) accounted for 12 of the RedHawks 15 shots. Gavin Niebel and Tariq Singh both appeared in net for the RedHawks to combine for 3 saves.Singh and the RedHawks defense did not yield a second half goal to keep the Tigers scoreless in the second half to help keep the RedHawks close.

Each team earned 5 corners each. The RedHawks (0-6) return home as they continue their non-conference schedule when they welcome Alma College on Saturday for a 6 p.m. CDT kickoff at the Dean and Barbara White Center in Merrillville, Ind.
