Box Score CROWN POINT, Ind. - Indiana Northwest fell to Governors State 7-0 on Wednesday night in Crown Point, but the RedHawks still celebrated a milestone achievement, clinching their first-ever berth in the CCAC Conference Tournament. The RedHawks finished the regular season with a record of 2-12-4 and a conference mark of 2-4-4, IU Northwest secured a place in postseason play, making a significant step forward for the program.
The game saw a tight and competitive first half as the Jaguars scored one goal in the 33
rd minute from Javier Losa off an assist from Andrea Croce. Indiana Northwest's defense remained resilient through the first half, with goalkeeper
Devun Collins and his backline able to withstand the offensive surge from a Governors State team that currently holds an undefeated record in conference play.
However, Governors State capitalized on a series of scoring opportunities in the second half, netting six additional goals. The Jaguars' offense was led by Losa, who scored twice and assisted on another, as well as Andrea Croce, who contributed two goals and two assists
The RedHawks now turn their focus to postseason preparations, where they'll either face Judson University or Governors State in the first round of the tournament. The CCAC Tournament is scheduled to begin Thursday, November 7.
