FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Indiana University Northwest women's soccer team remained unbeaten Wednesday after tying Saint Francis (Ind.) 0-0 despite peppering the goalie with seven shots on target.
The RedHawks move their record to 1-0-3 and return to play Wednesday, Sept. 13 in a home match against Goshen at 8 p.m.
Brynn Nylin had the first of seven IUN shots stoned by USF keeper Amber Morgan at the 8:36 mark. Then at the 21
st minute
Kelly Landry sent a shot towards the box, but her goal scoring opportunity was turned away as well.
RedHawks keeper
Isabel Escalera, meanwhile, was turning the Cougars away as she made five first half saves to match her counterpart.
After intermission, the IUN defense shut down the USF offensive attack as the defenders did not allow a shot on target. Three of the six second shots went high, while two others were sent wide and another was blocked defensively.
Offensively, Nylin had a second look at the net, but her shot was saved and then later in the half
Olivia Hansen's opportunity was stopped. However, with a bit more than two minutes left, the RedHawks tried to put header in, but the shot just missed the mark.
