PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Indiana University Northwest men's soccer team struggled to get the offense going as the RedHawks were downed 4-0 by Trinity Christian on warm Wednesday afternoon in CCAC play.
IUN (2-4-1, 0-2-0) and TCC played to a scoreless draw for much of the first half with the RedHawks defense allowing just two shots on goal.
Jared Hecimovich made both stops, but with less than two minutes remaining the Trolls found the back of the net after the IUN defense blocked a shot and TCC caught the rebound.
Hecimovich made another save early in the second half, however following a RedHawks foul the Trolls were able to score for a second time.
In the 71
st minute a TCC (3-3-2, 1-1-0) foul inside the box allowed IUN to take a penalty kick as
Luis Limones lined up for the chance. Limones shot attempt was saved by Trolls keeper Giorgos Christodoulou for his only save of the day.
Following Limones penalty kick, the RedHawks offense could not muster another shot, while the Trolls would tack on two more tallies to end the game.
IUN jumps back into action Saturday evening at 6:30 p.m. when it hosts Olivet Nazarene inside the Crown Point SportsPlex.
