PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – On a rain-soaked early Tuesday evening, the Indiana University Northwest women's soccer team was shutout 2-0 by CCAC foe Trinity Christian at the Schaaf Athletic Complex.
 
The RedHawks (1-2-4, 0-2-0) had a couple of looks at the net during the first 20 minutes as Kendal Ziel and Brynn Nylin fired their shots at the Trolls keeper but were turned away. Near the break Nylin took another shot at the back of the net, but once again she was denied.
 
IUN defense was up to the task over the first 45 minutes as the unit held TCC to just a pair of shots on goal as Isabel Escalera made both saves.
 
In the 55^th minute after a foul was called on the RedHawks and the Trolls (5-1-1, 2-0-0) took advantage as they hit the back of the net. Five minutes later TCC got its own rebound and scored for the second time on the day.
 
Late in the game, Kelly Shaffer took her opportunity, but her shot was stoned by the Trolls keeper for her fourth save. Then as time was ticking away, Shaffer took another shot, but the TCC defense stepped in the way to block the look.
 
Next up for the RedHawks is a Friday evening contest against Olivet Nazarene beginning at 7 p.m. at the Crown Point SportsPlex.
