INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – It was a tough evening for the Indiana University Northwest men's soccer team as it lost a 7-0 contest to Marian Wednesday in a nonconference tilt.
The RedHawks (2-2-1) struggled to their offense going as they didn't get their first shot of the evening off until
Dom Bixeman sent his opportunity wide in the 33
rd minute. Moments later
Emmanuel Dunmade sent a header towards the net, but the defense made a last-ditch effort save.
Right before intermission, IUN had another look at the net when
Cesar Amaya fired his shot at the keeper, but he was turned away.
During second half action, Marian (4-0-2) kept the RedHawks offense from getting any looks at the net, while the keeper combination
Jared Hecimovich and
Gavin Niebel made a pair of saves on 14 shot attempts.
IUN begins conference action Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. when it travels to Saint Xavier.
