SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Isaac Stanback and
Ladaion Barnes combined to score 35 points, but the Indiana University Northwest men's basketball team went cold in the opening half and fell 74-66 to IUSB Wednesday night in CCAC play.
The RedHawks are now 12-15 this season and 11-8 in conference action and wrap up the regular season with a home game against St. Francis at 3 p.m.
Barnes and
Malik Miller scored back-to-back buckets for IUN early in the first half to make it 5-0, but the contest became a back-and-forth affair until 11:35 mark. The Titans then used a 16-2 back breaking run to take command of the opening stanza which made it 32-17 with 5:40 remaining.
The RedHawks, however, chipped away at the deficit and got within four (66-62) after Stanback nailed two free throws late in the second period. IUN though could not get any closer, as IUSB finished the game with an 8-4 spurt over the final 3:23.
Malik Miller rounded out the double figure scoring for the RedHawks with 12 points, and he also pulled down five rebounds to go along with four steals.
