GARY, Ind. – Four of the five starters hit double digits points and
Lamarius Lillard scored 10 off the bench as the Indiana University Northwest men's basketball team was an 80-75 winner over CCAC foe Calumet St. Joseph's Wednesday night.

The RedHawks (4-4, 1-1) struggled to get the offense going through the first 11 minutes of the half, but when
Jalen Houston scored on a jumper midway through the fire was lit. IUN would outscore the Crimson Wave 23-13 over the final 10 minutes.

During that stretch, the RedHawks took their first lead (32-31) of the half late when
Demarius Splunge scored down low, which was part of his 13-point day.

Much of the second half was a back-and-forth battle with neither team holding a lead larger than three. That all changed with eight minutes remaining when
Brian Hernandez scored two of his seven points, which jump started a 10-3 run.

Then with two minutes left
Dannie Smith gave IUN its biggest lead of 12 when he scored three of his 11 points.

For the game Houston scored 17 to lead the RedHawks, while
Anthony Taylor added 16 points and Smith pulled down a team-best nine rebounds.

Next on the plate for IUN is a Saturday afternoon CCAC battle at St. Francis starting at 3 p.m.
