GARY, Ind. – Jalen Houston led all scorers with 15 points in the Indiana University Northwest men's basketball teams 83-30 victory over Andrews on Tuesday in nonconference action inside the Savannah Center.
Early on the teams went bucket for bucket until
Kionne Layne sank a layup to give the RedHawks a 10-7 advantage. The lead eventually grew to 21 when
Brandon Escobedo scored down low with a minute and a half left in the first stanza..
Less than three minutes into the second half,
Demarius Splunge pushed the IUN lead to 44-19 with a bucket in the paint.
Then for four minutes, the RedHawks defense kept the Cardinals off the board and the cushion grew to 42 points when
Adam Eastland sank a trifecta. Then a few moments later Eastland, who scored 10 on the night sank another three which made it 81-28.
The final IUN basket of the night was again scored by Eastland with a minute left as he finished the game with four rebounds and two steals -- all career-highs.
Next on the schedule is a trip to IU South Bend on Tuesday, Nov. 21 for a 6:30 p.m. tipoff.
