JOLIET, Ill. – Erica Packwood had 14 assists and 14 digs for the Indiana University Northwest volleyball team, St. Francis, however, came out on top in a three-set (25-15, 25-14, 25-16) sweep Saturday evening in CCAC play.
The RedHawks opened the first two sets with leads, but long Saints runs in each stanza stalled the IUN attack. The RedHawks tried to mount comebacks late in each of the first two frames but couldn't overcome the deficits.
Karly Jevert, who led IUN in kills with six, had one midway through the third to bring the RedHawks within three (13-10). USF, however, used another long run to push the gap to as much as nine in the closing moments.
IUN returns to action Thursday at Judson in must a win match to earn a spot in the upcoming CCAC Tournament.
