LA CROSSE, Wis. – Jared Hecimovich made a season-high 14 saves for the Indiana University Northwest men's soccer team, but Viterbo was a 4-0 winner Saturday afternoon in CCAC action on the pitch.
Early in the opening half, Hecimovich made three saves to keep the V-Hawks off the board as those were the only shots he faced.
Luis Limones, meanwhile, tried to break draw in the 32
nd minute, but he was denied.
Near intermission the V-Hawks had two shots but one of those hit the cross bar and the second was blocked by the IUN defense.
For the first 19 minutes of the second half Hecimovich was peppered with shots as he made eight more saves. However, in the 67
th minute Viterbo got their first shot past Hecimovich to break the scoreless tie.
The V-Hawks would add three more goals over the next nine minutes to put the contest out of reach.
Dom Bixeman had a look late in the contest for the RedHawks offense, but his shot was turned away.
IUN returns to the pitch on Wednesday, Oct. 18 when it welcomes Calumet St. Joseph's for a 6 p.m. kickoff.
