CROWN POINT, Ind. – Behind a pair of
Isaac Macias goals, the Indiana University Northwest men's soccer team dispatched CCAC foe St. Francis 3-1 Tuesday evening on the Crown Point SportsPlex pitch.
The RedHawks got the scoring started 11 minutes into the game when Macias scored on a cross from
Dom Bixeman. IUN continued to fire shots at the Saints goalie, but opportunities by Bixeman,
Avione Lane and
Tyler Davis were stopped.
RedHawks keeper
Jared Hecimovich, meanwhile kept USF off the board as he stopped the only shot he faced in the 20
th minute.
Early in the second half, Macias got back into the scoring column when he took another pass from Bixeman to make it 2-0. However, with 15 minutes left the Saints brought the game to within a goal after being awarded a penalty kick.
Bixeman then tallied his sixth goal of the season to put the finishing touches on the game and help the RedHawks snap a seven-game skid.
IUN returns to action Saturday when it travels to new CCAC opponent Viterbo in La Crosse, Wis., at 1:30 p.m.
