Box Score Chicago, Ill. -IU Northwest women's volleyball traveled to the Windy City on Tuesday night to face the CCAC leading Saint Xavier Cougars. The RedHawks got a first-hand look at why the Cougars at the top of the CCAC standing and fell in straight sets (23-25, 15-25, 22-25). IU Northwest battled in a competitive first set however came up short 23-25. The second set was all Cougars as IUN failed to find any consistent footing against the potent Cougar attack with a score of 15-25. The third set was another fight to the finish, but still the Cougars edged IUN 22-25.

IU Northwest saw their six-match winning streak come to an end and fell to 12-5 overall and back to .500 (3-3) in CCAC conference play. The RedHawks were led by
Emileishka De Jesus with 10 kills.
Taylor VanDommlen led IUN with 21 assists while she and
Chloe Roberts both tallied 11 digs each.

Coach's Perspective
"Saint Xavier is a very talented and experienced team. I felt we were right there most of the night, however just we weren't able to finish a couple of sets to keep us in the match," said IUN Head Coach
Alondra Avalos.

The RedHawks (12-5 / 3-3) will return home to face another top CCAC squad in Trinity International this Thursday. The match is set for a 7 p.m. start.
