Palos Heights, Ill. - IU Northwest visited Trinity Christian on Saturday for a kep late season CCAC matchup with the Trolls. The RedHawks controlled the set from the outset and never allowed the Trolls to gain their rhythm as they defeated Trinity Christian in four sets, 3-1 (25-13, 16-25, 25-11, 25-19).
Senior standout
Emileishka De Jesus paced the RedHawks on both offense and defense recording another double double with 16 kills and 10 digs. Taylor VanDommlen was again the the catalyst for the potent RedHawk attack with 39 assists. Chloe Roberts led the IUN defense 18 digs. Other RedHawks leaders included. Karley Jevert with 4 blocks and 7 kills.
Mary Markusic added 7 kills for IU Northwest. Erica Packwood chipped in with 3 blocks and also recorded a team high 3 aces.
Briah Strezo helped lead the stingy RedHawk defense with 9 digs.
With the win IU Northwest improved to 15-10 overall and 7-8 in the CCAC. IUN remains in a tie for 7th with Judson in the CCAC standings as they continue their push towards the post-season.
The RedHawks return to action for the final week of the regular season when they travel to IU South Bend this Tuesday for a match with the Titans beginning at 6:30 p.m. CT.
