GAME RECAP
Roosevelt started the game with a three-pointer then IU Northwest went on a 8-0 run after Karli Miller converted an and-one, Tiara Jackson made a layup then Michaela Schmidt nailed a three-pointer. The Lakers responded with a three-pointer to make it 8-6 IUN.
The RedHawks responded with 20 unanswered points to make it 28-6 in favor of IU Northwest including three trifectas from Katelyn Halfacre. Roosevelt knocked down a pair at the free-throw line then Halfacre and Lauren Smolen ended the first quarter with layups to make it 30-8 in favor of IU Northwest.
Roosevelt started the second quarter with five straight points then after a pair of free throws by Miller then the Lakers hit a three-pointer to make it a 16-point game (32-16) with 7:12 left in the first half. Back-to-back baskets by Sarah Martin extended the IU Northwest lead to 40-19 with 4:16 left in the game.
Towards the end of the first half, Halfacre hit another three-pointer to make it 48-26 RedHawks with 50 seconds left. IU Northwest led 50-31 at the halftime break.
IU Northwest scored the first seven points of the second half after Sarah Martin hit a three-pointer then Schmidt and Jackson hit back-to-back layups. Later in the third quarter, Alyna Santiago made back-to-back baskets for the RedHawks to give IU Northwest a 64-41 lead.
The RedHawks led 68-46 at the end of the third quarter. Smolen started the fourth quarter with a layup to expand the lead to 70-46. Jackson and Madison Wirey hit layups towards the end of the contest as the RedHawks won 82-66.
