IU Northwest Volleyball Sweeps Lincoln Tuesday

LINCOLN, Ill. -- The Indiana University Northwest volleyball team swept Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Lincoln, 3-0, at the Lincoln Center, Tuesday.

SET BREAKDOWN
Set 1: IU Northwest 25, Lincoln 12

  • Both teams were tied 2-2 early in the first set. 
  • IU Northwest pulled away and grabbed a 9-4 lead.
  • Lincoln scored three points in a row to make it 9-7 but that was the closest the Lynx got all set.
  • It was 21-12 IU Northwest then the RedHawks scored four points in a row to capture the first set, 25-12.

Set 2: IU Northwest 25, Lincoln 15

  • IU Northwest led 6-1 early in the second set after a service ace before Lincoln rallied off three points in a row.
  • The RedHawks led 13-10 almost midway through the second set before scoring five in a row to make it 18-10.
  • Lincoln looked to fight back in the game after making it 20-13 but IU Northwest was too much for Lincoln.

Set 3: IU Northwest 25, Lincoln 19

  • Lincoln scored the first two points of the set, trying to get back in the match.
  • IU Northwest bounced back with two of their own then both teams traded the next several points to make it 10-10.
  • With the score, 14-13 in favor of the RedHawks, IU Northwest went on a 5-1 run to grab a 19-14 lead.
  • The Lynx bounced back looking to get back in the match which made it 21-19.
  • The RedHawks ended the match by winning four straight points to sweep Lincoln, 3-0.
