Box Score WHITING, Ind. -- The Indiana University Northwest women's volleyball team started their season in a big way as the RedHawks swept Calumet College of St. Joseph, 3-0, at the Rittenmeyer Center, Tuesday. The RedHawks won three in a row, 25-14, 29-27, 25-12.

1st Set (IU Northwest 25, CCSJ 14)
- Both teams traded early points in the first set which made it 3-3.
- IU Northwest would rally and score 10 unanswered points starting off with a kill by Karly Jevert, service ace by Chloe Roberts and a pair of kills by Alexis Turner to make it 13-3.
- CCSJ responded with back-to-back points before Maddie Maatman recorded a kill to make it 14-5.
- The Crimson Wave looked to make a comeback after scoring four straight points to make it 21-11 but Briah Strezo put an end to it.
- Maatman ended the first set with a service ace to grab an 1-0 advantage with the RedHawks winning 25-14.
2nd Set (IU Northwest 29, CCSJ 27)
- The second set was a lot closer than the first set.
- Calumet grabbed an early 4-2 early in the second set before Turner picked up back-to-back kills to tie it up.
- The Crimson Wave had another answer with consecutive points before IU Northwest scored six in a row to make it 10-6.
- Genevieve Grah gave IU Northwest their biggest lead of the second set which was 13-8 midway through.
- IUN led 19-13 then CCSJ rallied for seven points in a row to grab a 20-19 lead late in the second set.
- Calumet College had many chances to win the second set but the RedHawks did not give in.
- The Crimson Wave led 24-21 late in the second set but IU Northwest scored four in a row to grab a 25-24 lead.

3rd Set (IU Northwest 25, CCSJ 12)
- Kelsey Ferrell started a RedHawk rally in the final set after recording a huge kill and delivering a key block.
- IU Northwest led 10-6 in the third set then the RedHawks scored six in a row capped off by a service ace by Emma Roberts.
- Both teams traded three straight point rallies then IU Northwest put the game away after a kill by Ferrell and a service ace by Stephanie Teer.
- Ferrell ended the match with a kill to give the RedHawks a 25-12 match win which led to the 3-0 victory.
