Volleyball Picks up Victory Against Calumet St. Joseph Monday

GARY, Ind. -- The Indiana University Northwest women's volleyball defeated Calumet St. Joseph in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference match Monday.

SET BREAKDOWN

SET 1: IU Northwest 25, Calumet College 15

  • IU Northwest went up 6-0 early in the first set. 
  • Calumet College fought back and made it 11-6 in favor of the RedHawks. 
  • The RedHawks had a lead all of the first set and had control of it.
  • IUN led 21-15 late in the first set then won four points in a row to win the first set 25-15.

SET 2: Calumet College 25, IU Northwest 17

  • Both teams went back-and-forth to start the second set which made it 7-7.
  • Calumet College scored three points in a row to make 10-7.
  • CCSJ never gave up the lead the rest of the set to capture the second set.
  • IU Northwest cut it to 18-16 CCSJ but the Crimson Wave went on a 7-1 rally to end the second set.

SET 3: IU Northwest 25, Calumet College 20

  • Both teams traded points again in the third set making it 4-4. 
  • CCSJ led 8-6 after that tie early in the set. 
  • IU Northwest scored five points in a row to grab a 11-8 lead.
  • The RedHawks led 17-11 later on in the third set before CCSJ looked to rally and scored three in a row.
  • IUN won the third set 25-20.

SET 4: IU Northwest 25, Calumet College 19

  • CCSJ led the fourth set 4-2 in the early going in the fourth set.
  • IU Northwest tried to bounced back but CCSJ held them off. 
  • The Crimson Wave went ahead 10-8 then the RedHawks scored three points in a row to go ahead 11-10.
  • CCSJ bounced back and pulled ahead 14-12 but IUN scored four straight for a 16-14 lead.
  • The RedHawks won the fourth set 25-19.

UP NEXT

  • IU Northwest Volleyball will be back in action Tuesday, October 19 as the RedHawks travel to Judson starting at 7 p.m. CT.
