Box Score GARY, Ind. -- The Indiana University Northwest women's basketball team could not hang onto their lead after three quarters as the RedHawks dropped a non-conference game to in-state rival Indiana University Northwest, 62-52, inside the Savannah Center, Saturday.

FIRST QUARTER (IU Northwest 12, IU South Bend 9)
- Both teams were scoring the first 3:33 before Sarah Martin got the RedHawks on the board with an and-one at the 6:27 mark.
- This first basket helped the RedHawks add on seven more points to go up 10-0.
- Taylor Jaksich hit a three-pointer and Breanna Boles and Samantha Martin hit back-to-back baskets.
- IUSB rallied and score nine points in a row of their own to cut it to 10-9.
- Michaela Schmidt made a basket with one second left to make it 12-9 to end the first quarter.
SECOND QUARTER (IU Northwest 14, IU South Bend 14)
- Schmidt picked up where she left off as the sophomore made the first two baskets for IU Northwest in the second quarter which made it 16-11.
- Boles knocked down a pair at the line to make it 20-13 IUN with 4:54 left in the first half.
- The Titans stormed back and scored 10 in a row the next three minutes to grab their first lead of the day.
- Schmidt converted a huge and-one and Meghan Long hit a deep three with 48 seconds left.
- The RedHawks closed out the half scoring the last six points to go up 26-23 at the break.
THIRD QUARTER (IU Northwest 18, IU South Bend 14)
- Jaksich opened up the second half with a three-pointer for IU Northwest then IUSB answered right back with one of their own.
- Both teams traded baskets with IUN leading with a small margin each time.
- The Martin sisters made back-to-back jumpers to give the RedHawks a 44-37 lead with 1:35 left in the third quarter.
- That score would hold up until the end of the quarter with IUN leading the Titans 44-37.
FOURTH QUARTER (IU South Bend 25, IU Northwest 8)
- IUSB came out firing on all cylinders in the final period.
- The Titans scored the first two baskets of the quarter then Desa Geisler hit a basket to keep the lead.
- There was a quick response by IUSB after making a trifecta to grab an 48-47 advantage.
- Schmidt gave the RedHawks their last lead of the game with a bucket which made it 49-48 with 7:14 to go in the game.
- A few minutes later after Schmidt split a pair at the line made it 52-50, IUSB scored 10 unanswered towards the end of the game.
- Schmidt closed out the game with a basket as the Titans won 62-52.
