Box Score SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- The Indiana University Northwest women's basketball team struggled on the road as the RedHawks lost to in-state rival IU South Bend, 76-50, at the Student Activites Center.

QUARTER BREAKDOWN
FIRST QUARTER (IU Northwest 12, IU South Bend 7)
- Sarah Martin hit a three-pointer to make it 5-0 early in the contest.
- IUSB bounced right back and scored seven points in a row to grab a 7-5 lead with 4:41 to play in the quarter.
- However, the Titans did not score the rest of the period as the RedHawks scored the next seven points.
- Meghan Long ended the RedHawks drought to tie the game up at 7-all.
- Desa Geisler hit back-to-back jumpers at the end of the quarter to give IU Northwest a 12-7 lead.
SECOND QUARTER (IU South Bend 32, IU Northwest 18)
- The second quarter was all in favor of the Titans as IU South Bend scored the first 13 points of the period to pull ahead 20-12.
- Sarah Martin ended that run with a basket with 6:36 to play in the half.
- The Titans did not let up as they would score the next six to go up 26-14.
- Breanna Boles put a stop to IUSB's spurt after making a layup with 2:31 to go.
- IUSB went in anoither 6-0 run the next two minutes but Sarah Martin was able to get one to fall right before the half as the Titans led 32-18.
THIRD QUARTER (IU South Bend 57, IU Northwest 39)
- The Titans scored the first five points of the second half then Boles and Michaela Schmidt put a stop to it with back-to-back baskets.
- Moments later, Boles converted on an and-one to make it an 11-point (46-35) with 2:22 to go in the third quarter.
- Unfortunately that was the closest the RedHawks got the rest of the night.
- IUSB went on a 11-4 run to close out the quarter to go ahead 57-39.
FOURTH QUARTER (IU South Bend 76, IU Northwest 50)
- The fourth quarter was all IUSB as they outscored IU Northwest, 19-11 in the final period.
- Schmidt knocked down a pair at the line to make it 60-41 but then IU South Bend scored the next 12 points to grab their biggest lead of the night which was 31 (72-41) with 6:13 to go in the game.
- Lauren Smolen tried to get the RedHawks back in the game with a basket but it was already too late in the game with the RedHawks trailing.
- Syndey Van Meter and Ally McConnell tried to provide a spark off the bench for IU Northwest after making back-to-back buckets but IUSB was one step ahead.
- IU South Bend ended up winning the game 76-50.
