IUN went up 10-2 early in the game after Marshaud Watkins (Harvey, Ill.) hit a three-pointer. TIU crawled back after scoring the next seven points to make it a one-point game still in the early stages of the game.

TIU made it close again after an IUN run but then the RedHawks jumped out and scored seven in a row capped off by a three-pointer by Jason Peace (Indianapolis, Ind.) to make it 26-14.

The RedHawks went up as much as 18 after Rashad Richardson (Lafayette, Ind./Lafayette Jeff) hit a basket and back-to-back buckets by Martellian Gibson (Rantoul, Ill.) which made it 33-15 with 4:17 left in the first half. TIU fought back to make it a 10-point game at half after going on a 12-4 run the final four plus minutes (37-27).

TIU made it down to six (54-48) with 11 minutes to go but that was the closest the Trojans got as and Watkins and Chris Robinson (Indianapolis, Ind./Pike) hit back-to-back threes to make it a double digit lead again.

Late in the game, IUN started lighting it up from three-point land as Richardson, Ryan LaFollette (Lake Station, Ind./River Forest) and Greg Charles (Munster, Ind./Munster) all knocked one down. Tyler Bostic (Indianapolis, Ind./Mount Vernon) secured the 30-point lead after hitting a basket.

IUN went on to win the game 94-64.

The RedHawks had five players reach double figures. Peace recorded his first double-double in an IUN uniform as the junior recorded 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Watkins led the RedHawks in scoring as the junior scored 21 points. Gibson picked up 18 points and grabbed eight rebounds.

Richardson inches closer in becoming IUN's all-time leading scorer as the senior scored 17 points as well. Robinson added 14 points for the RedHawks to round out the leaders for IUN.

IUN returns to action Saturday, January 18 as the RedHawks travel to Milwaukee, Wis. to take on the Cardinal Stritch Wolves starting at 3 p.m. CT.
