Robyn Griffin was named assistant athletic director for athletic communications at Indiana University Northwest in June 2025. A 2021 graduate and former RedHawk volleyball player, Griffin returns to her alma mater to lead the department’s media relations, digital presence and strategic communications efforts.
A native of the Chicagoland area, Griffin began her collegiate career at IU Northwest in 2016 on a volleyball scholarship and went on to compete in women’s golf (2018-19) and women’s soccer (2020). She was a member of the RedHawks' historic 2018 volleyball team, which made the program’s first-ever appearance in the NAIA National Tournament. That same season, she was named to the A.I.I. All-Tournament Team and was later honored with the RedHawk Record Award for volleyball excellence.
While excelling as a student-athlete, Griffin also served as a student statistician and sports information assistant within the IU Northwest Athletics Department. Her work in game-day operations, statistics, and social media laid the foundation for her career in athletics communications.
After graduating from IU Northwest with a bachelor’s degree in general studies and a minor in sport management, Griffin went on to earn a master’s degree in sport management from the University of Indianapolis in 2023. While pursuing her graduate degree, she worked as a graduate assistant in the sport management program, helped manage content for social media, and gained experience at high-profile events including the 2021 College Football Playoff and through her work with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
Griffin most recently served as the director of sports information and senior woman leader at Stephens College in Columbia, Mo., where she led athletic communications for four NAIA programs. In her role, she produced digital campaigns, introduced a sustainability-driven digital ticketing system, and launched recognition initiatives for student-athlete achievements. She also oversaw game day productions.Â
Griffin brings a diverse skill set, creative vision, and deep institutional pride to IU Northwest, where she is committed to enhancing the visibility of RedHawk Athletics and supporting the student-athlete experience.
