Chuck Hesser is in his third year as the Head Athletic Trainer for Indiana University Northwest Athletics. He began working with the RedHawks in a part-time capacity in August 2022 before transitioning to full-time in July 2023.
Hesser brings over 25 years of experience in athletic training, having worked across high school, collegiate, clinical, and industrial settings. Prior to IU Northwest, he spent 15 years as the head athletic trainer at Wheeler High School and served several other schools in the Northwest Indiana region.
A native of Riverdale, Illinois, Hesser began his academic journey at South Suburban College and earned his bachelor’s degree from Valparaiso University in 1998. He completed a Master of Science in Athletic Administration from Indiana State University in 2024.
Outside of athletics, Hesser is an active member of the BVC—a philanthropic men’s organization in Chicagoland that supports communities through school supply drives, charity walks, homeless outreach, and holiday events.
He is the proud father of three children—two sons and a daughter—and shares his home with two dogs and a cat. Each holiday season, he takes on the role of Santa Claus, spreading joy to families in need throughout the community.
