Biography

Ashley Contreras returns for her sophomore season with the RedHawks. As a freshman, Contreras was the "heart and soul" of the RedHawk attack setting up her teammates in the offense.  She was named IU Northwest, top- female scholar athlete in 2008-2009.  As a prep, Contreras earned eight varsity letters volleyball and tennis at Merrillville High as well as achieving honor student status.  Contreras was also was the recipient of leadership awards in both volleyball and tennis while at MHS. Ashley is majoring in secondary education.
