Megan Holland begins her first season as an assistant with the RedHawks. Holland joins the staff just one season removed from an outstanding career at IU Northwest and one of the most decorated RedHawks student-athletes. While with the RedHawks Holland earned First-Team All-A.I.I. and IU Northwest Most Valuable Player Honors in both her junior and senior seasons.
At the conclusion of her senior season Holland was named the 2014 A.I.I. Player of the Year and an NAIA All-American honorable mention following a season in which she led the RedHawks in scoring (19.2) and rebounding (8.2) en route to a 23-9 overall record, including a 14-1 home record, the best marks in the program's history. The two-time team captain led the Redhawks to the 2014 A.I.I. Regular Season Conference championship and the top overall seed in the 2014 A.I.I Conference Tournament, their first since 2011. Additionally, she was named to the 2014 A.I.I. All-Tournament Team.
In her final college game Holland became just the third player to surpass 1,000 career points in a RedHawks uniform, reaching the mark in just two seasons. Holland ranked in the top-two nationally in field goal percentage in both of her seasons at IU Northwest, leading the nation in shooting percentage at .676 in 2012-2013. She registered a career high with 38 points to go with 14 rebounds in a win over Robert Morris-Chicago on Jan. 8, 2015.
Holland poured in 27 points with 8 boards in a 67-65 win at #20 Grace College on Nov. 9, 2013. Later she recorded 18 points and a career high 15 rebounds in another upset victory at #18 Purdue Calumet on Dec. 4, 2013. She was named A.I.I. Player of the Week five times during her senior season. One season earlier Holland led the nation in field goal percentage at .676 during the 2012-13 season and rang up 31 points at 10 rebounds including 13-15 shooting from the floor in a 106-67 win over St Mary of the Woods. She ranked nationally in field goal percentage the following season at .592.
Prior to IU Northwest, the Otsego, MI native was a key cog in Kalamazoo Valley's 2012 MCCAA Championship team that recorded a 28-2 record and finished with a #3 national ranking in the final NJCAA Division II National Poll. At the conclusion of that season she was named Third-Team All-MCCAA.
In addition to on-court coaching duties, Holland's responsibilities include post-player development, recruiting, film exchange, scouting and coordination of team travel. She earned a bachelor of arts from IU Northwest in 2014 and is currently pursuing a master of business administration from IU Northwest.
