A former collegiate small forward at Purdue, Marcus Green enters into his first season at Indiana University Northwest as the Associate Head Men's Basketball Coach to Head Coach Jason Hawkins.
Prior to IU Northwest, Green played professional basketball in Argentina for Boca Juniors, Green served as Assistant Coach for Stevenson High School and Personal Basketball Trainer for Finish Strong Athletic 2010-11. He helped assist Stevenson High School to an 18 win season.
Green was a four-year lettermen and two-time captain for the Purdue University Boilermakers from 2005-09, playing all four seasons for Matt Painter. Known for being a hard-nose guard and great defender, he helped Purdue to 83 wins, including three 20-win seasons, a Big Ten Tournament Championship, three trips to the NCAA Tournament and a Sweet Sixteen appearance during his career. He played 134 games with 28 starts in his career. Green still ranks second all-time at Purdue University in most consecutive games played.
As a senior, Green led Purdue to 27 wins and an NCAA Tournament, and Sweet Sixteen appearance in 2008-09.
Green went to East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, IL, played for head coach Ken Davis, where he earned first team West Suburban All-Conference honor and was named to the Daily Herald All-Area team as a junior and a senior. Green played in the annual City-Suburban High School All Star Game as a senior after averaging 17 points, 4 assists, 10 rebounds and two steals in 2003-04. In that same year he also played for the Full Package AAU program, where he was named MVP of the Windy City Classic AAU Tournament
A native of Chicago, IL, Green, 25, earned a bachelor's degree in Organizational Leadership and Supervision from Purdue University in 2009.
