Steve Hatchett

Steve Hatchett will enter his seventh season as head assistant and developmental head coach of the Indiana University Northwest men's basketball program in 2026-27.

Hatchett specializes in skill development, scouting and recruiting. In his first season (2018-19), he contributed to the RedHawks' quick start of 4-0 as the team finished with a program-record 24 wins. That season, Hatchett further developed the shooting efficiency of conference player of the year Chris Dixon-Williams, who averaged career highs in points (19.5), 3-pointers made, 3-point percentage (43.3%) and free throw percentage (80.6%).

In 2019-20, Hatchett helped develop senior forward Rashad Richardson, who averaged 21 points per game while earning NAIA All-American honorable mention honors.

During the 2021-22 season, Hatchett's fourth with the program, IUN men's basketball made history with its first appearance in the NAIA national tournament following an 11-game winning streak, concluding the season 23-8.

During the 2023-24 developmental season, Hatchett led the RedHawks to a 5-3 record, including four consecutive wins. In a 100-93 victory over Trinity Christian, IUN was led by Adam Eastland, who scored 36 points.

Since Hatchett joined the RedHawks' coaching staff, the IUN men's basketball program is more than 30 games over .500, winning nearly 70% of its games.

As founder of the shooting efficiency training company H-SET365, Hatchett has been involved in basketball development since 2014. In 2016, he officially launched H-SET365 LLC. Currently, Hatchett assists with off-season scouting and recruiting, as well as conducting summer workouts, player development and skill conditioning.
