Kristofer Schnatz

Coach Kristofer Schnatz enters his first season as the Head Men’s Basketball Coach for the RedHawks. He is a graduate of the State University of New York Maritime College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marine Transportation. He also has earned a Master of Science Degree in Sports Administration from Valparaiso University in 2005.
 

Coach Schnatz began his coaching career in 1999 assisting at SUNY Maritime College, Lindenhurst High School and Chesterton High School over a five year period. In 2003 he joined Coach Grayling Gordon’s staff at Purdue University North Central and served as an assistant for four years before being named head coach in 2007. Coach Schnatz served as the head coach for five years before moving into his athletic administration role following the 2011-12 season.
 

Coach Schnatz was appointed to direct the RedHawk Athletic Program in October 2012 and has been a driving force behind an expanding program. In two short years the RedHawk Athletic Program has grown from three varsity teams to five varsity teams and is expected to add at least one more by the Fall of 2015.
 

Schnatz, a native of Long Island, New York enjoyed a successful playing career for the Maritime Privateers from 1994 – 1998. He was a three year starter, a team captain by his junior year and helped lead them to their first post-season appearance out of the Skyline Conference as a senior in 1998. Schnatz’s individual efforts were highlighted after completing his sophomore season shooting 45.6% from the field and 48% from 3pt range, ranked 3rd in the nation (NCAA Division III 3pt FG%).
 

Coach Schnatz will look to lead a revitalized men’s program into the 2014-15 season.
