Devin Ellis will be entering his third season as associate head coach for the Indiana Northwest men's basketball team after spending the last two seasons as the lead assistant.

Ellis helped lead the RedHawks to the NAIA Tournament and a CCAC Tournament crown for the first time in program history during the 2023-24 season. Under his guidance, Dannie Smith was named CCAC Newcomer of the Year, while Anthony Taylor and Trace Williams were named second team all-conference.

Since joining the RedHawks staff in 2019, Ellis has led player development and has been instrumental in recruiting that played a significant role in the RedHawks success and run the past few years. Ellis led the recruitment of highly sought-after junior college transfer Jared Johnson who led the CCAC with a 22.4 points per game scoring average last season en route to conference newcomer of the year and second team All-CCAC honors.

Ellis has served on Heridia's staff for the past two seasons following a two-season stint as a  varsity assistant and head JV boy's basketball coach for Andrean High School. Andrean captured its first-ever Indiana High School State Championship in school history in 2019.

"Early in his coaching career, Devin has demonstrated tremendous growth and commitment to our program," said Head Coach Heridia. "He has been a difference maker behind the scenes in player development, recruiting and film breakdown, however is also a trusted resource when it comes to in-game adjustments."

"He has established himself as a rising young star in this profession and I look forward to him contributing to our program's success."

Prior to Andrean, Ellis was a three-year letter winner in men's basketball at IU Northwest from 2012-2016 while earning a Bachelor of Arts in General Studies with a minor in Communication. He also served as IU Northwest head men's cross country coach during the 2019 season.
